Scene Twenty-One:

Think You Can Handle This? He is Born!

ISIS and ANUBIS as before, near the bed where OSIRIS is resting.

ANUBIS:

He is ready and will soon be panting to see you.

ISIS:

Please. Panting?

ANUBIS:

I believe that's the term. So eager to see you that his breath gets louder and faster? Panting? Yes?

ISIS:

Yes. Panting. Thank you for preparing him, Anubis. Please leave us.

Exit ANUBIS. ISIS crosses to OSIRIS' bed. He turns his head and his arm reaches toward her.

ISIS:

My lord.

OSIRIS:

My lady.

ISIS:

It's been ahh a long time. (Pause.) Have a good rest? A good ride?

OSIRIS:

I have missed you.

ISIS:

Miss is not the word. May I ask one thing?

OSIRIS:

How could I not know the box was a trap? What was I thinking?

ISIS:

Close enough.

OSIRIS:

I was thinking wouldn't this box be a beautiful thing to have at the palace door, where all the people can see it when they come, and then --

ISIS:

Slam!

OSIRIS:

Slam. More like shoomp! And it was merkaba time.

ISIS:

For you it was. Not for us.

OSIRIS:

No one abandons you. You are a river. And a star.

ISIS:

I also happen to be a woman.

OSIRIS:

I am only a plant, my love.

(She removes the staff, crook and flail from his hands, places them aside.)

ISIS:

Then the doctor will have to check the condition of the stalk, unless you object. Here. Please let me know if anything I do causes you discomfort.

OSIRIS laughs and lifts his hands upward, helping ISIS to position herself over him, straddling his legs. MUSIC in C and C# as ISIS tones and OSIRIS joins her. ISIS removes the Root Chakra bandage. LIGHTS to Red and Pink. He is Born MUSIC begins.

ISIS:

Think you can handle this?

OSIRIS:

I'm in danger now. The most beautiful woman in the world has got me, and there appears to be no way out. What shall I do?

ISIS:

Breathe. You're sure your heart doesn't need more time?

OSIRIS:

My heart feels ready to me. There's only one way to tell.

ISIS places herself over OSIRIS' Root Chakra and sex center. The love act of ISIS and OSIRIS is stylized and elegant. The physical conception of HORUS may be suggested in movement, but will be shown mainly through LIGHT and MUSIC changes, and KHU images projected over the lovers' bodies. As they activate OSIRIS' four lower chakras, LIGHTS and KHUs change from red to orange, then yellow/gold, then green.) The He is Born refrain is first sung by the ENSEMBLE, who are joined by CELEBRANTS as the CHORUS.

He is Born!

CHORUS:

He is planted, he is born (Repeat.)

ISIS:

He is planted, he is born.

I see him now with the loins of a lion in spring,

And with wings that can race through the earth.

CHORUS:

He is born. (Now after each 2 lines:)

ISIS:

He is born with the gaze of a falcon

And the voice of a bullock at birth.

OSIRIS:

He is born with an eye for justice

And a heart for mercy's rain.

He is born in tune with the Sun and Moon

And planets peaceful in their train.

CHORUS:

He is born. (Same rhythm, new harmonies.)

ISIS:

He is born in love's geometry,

He is tracing the lines that lead to the free.

CHORUS:

He is born. (3x)

MUSIC Interlude with KHUs: Reverse of the MERKABA Sequence from Act Two as Osiris revives. As the rotation of the MERKABA becomes slower, the KHU of OSIRIS' ENERGY FIELD is projected onto ISIS and OSIRIS. A surge of energy goes through both, though the impact is far more evident on OSIRIS.)

ISIS:

Are you all right?

OSIRIS:

I don't recall ever smiling more sincerely. More.

He is Born MUSIC resumes, this time with CHORUS repeating their line antiphonally.

He is Born (Continues:)

CHORUS:

His chest arches into its first full breath. (Repeat.)

ISIS:

He is born with an ear for wisdom,

He is born with the grip of a singer,

OSIRIS:

He is born with a nose for beauty.

ISIS

And the beauty of a dove

OSIRIS:

In the breast of a hawk

ISIS & OSIRIS:

And a mind of noble splendor.

ALL:

Horus! He is born! (Repeat.)

MUSIC continues as KHU of HORUS, which appears over his parents, descends in brilliant green light that covers ISIS. As HORUS KHU expands to touch OSIRIS, there are flashes of red, gold and green lights, then falling stars. MUSIC fades as KHUs go to black.
