Chart for Beijing, People's Republic of China

Aug. 31, 2006 at 6:39 pm:
Summary Notes: There is a difference of night and day -- exactly 12 hours -- between the Washington, DC and Beijing charts, so this chart is the reverse image of the DC chart:
The Beijing chart has Pisces rising and Sagittarius at the Midheaven.
The Leo and Virgo planets and the Moon's South Node in the Beijing chart are in the 6th and 7th houses, rather than the 1st and 2nd; the Aquarius planets, and Uranus and the Moon's North Node in Pisces are in the 1st and 2nd houses, rather than the 6th and 7th.
The trio of the Moon, Jupiter and Scorpio, which are at the bottom of the DC chart, are at the top of the Beijing chart, spanning the 8th, 9th and 10th houses.
The Sun-Mercury conjunction in the Beijing chart is opposite the Pisces Ascendant.
The Moon in Sagittarius is square the Ascendant, though too far out of orb to form a T-cross with Sun-Mercury and the Ascendant
Saturn in Leo is trine the Midheaven in Sagittarius.
The Tentative Bottom Line, as of Aug. 1, 2006: Sun-Mercury opposite the Ascendant, and Mars-South Node conjunct in the 7th house, mean that disagreements and the potential for quarrels abound in partnerships and other important relationships, though this friction is likely to remain hidden, as Neptune is in the 12th house of secrets and Saturn is able to act as the patient diplomat in the 6th house of service relationships. The Beijing chart has Uranus rising, though not close enough to the Ascendant to conjoin it, so there is a strong possibility that the Chinese can pull an exciting, even spectacular coup as peace brokers if they are brave enough to tap the PR advantage that the Uranus-Jupiter trine offers them. As the Moon's North Node is also in the 1st house, the Chinese can form favorable new relationships, and catalyze better relationships among others, if they are able to think outside the Chinese box that the Central Nation has always found most comfortable. The Saturn-Midheaven trine favors painstaking effort toward goals of order and justice, and even fosters significant progress toward new aims of one's own. How the Chinese will balance these centripetal and centrifugal forces -- which favor respectively their own interests and everyone else's -- will determine whether and how they'll play the subtle miracle worker role that is now available to them.
Chart for Teheran, Iran
Aug. 31, 2006 at 3:09 pm:
Summary Notes: The Teheran chart has Sagittarius rising and Libra at the Midheaven, suggesting both a readiness for greater influence and power, and a desire for alliances.
The Leo and Virgo planets and the Moon's South Node in the Teheran chart are in the 8th and 9th houses; the Aquarius planets, and Uranus and the Moon's North Node in Pisces are in the 2nd and 3rd houses.
The Moon and Pluto are both in the 11th house in the Teheran chart.
The Ascendant is the fulcrum point in the Teheran chart. Pluto is closely conjunct the Ascendant, at an orb of less than 1°, and the Pluto-Ascendant conjunction is square to the Mars-South Node conjunction in Virgo, and trine to Venus in Leo.
The Tentative Bottom Line, as of Aug. 1, 2006: If anyone can be said to be in the proverbial catbird seat under this alignment, it's Iran, though similar charts are in effect for nearby countries, including Iraq. The aggressive, militant Mars-South Node conjunction is in the 9th house of authority, including institutions of government, philosophy, religion and law, so it is a good bet that Iran's rhetoric will amp up through August and into September -- and profitably so, as Iran's chart is the only one of the three we've seen here and in the main August Prelude that has a dynamic combination in the two main money houses, the 2nd and the 8th. The presence of both the Moon and Jupiter in the 11th house of friends brings the possibility that Iran's confident new posture in 2006 -- and its ongoing five-year coup of getting its enemy in North America to destroy its enemy next door -- will win the Islamic republic new respect and alliances, and more tangible advantages as well. Uranus and the North Node in the 3rd house of communications point to advantages that come through unexpected and daring initiatives in consensus-building. Pluto on the Ascendant means that the striving for power may be ruthless, but it has a good chance of success. The internal struggle for power between entrenched Islamic authorities and pragmatic power artists favors the players more than the prayers.
